COMMUTING: What's the best way to get to Walnut Creek from Stockton?

I may take a job in Walnut Creek, and I was wondering what's the best way to get there from Stockton? I mean fastest, least traffic, etc. I know how to get there from 205/580. I would be working a typical 8-5 position.
Are there any resources out there for commuters to share ideas and suggestions?
