LIVE SOUND REINFORCEMENT
An introduction to live sound mixing directed toward employment in the sound reinforcement industry and operating sound systems in church. Students will develop skills in operating mixing consoles, speaker placement, microphone techniques, room equalization, reverb, effects and practical techniques for getting the best concert sound.
There are no prerequisites for this class.
The cost is ~$100 total.

Okay, not a rant session. Im looking for musicians, people who want to play music because it is a part of thier life and they strive to be better musicians and people. Not people who want to be in a band to bang chicks, take glamor shots and hit up myspace like its a teenage prom queen. Im looking for people who have day jobs and other lives but are looking to put thier minds together to make impactful music. Im tired of the flakes and jamming, and then finding out people arent motivated. I want to play shows again, i want to see people sing along. I want to make good music. My influences are, Circa Survive, Saosin, Rx Bandits, Normal Like You, He Is Legend, Emery, Acceptance, Bayside, Halifax, Jacks Mannequin, Dallas Green, City and Colour, Minus the bear, Glassjaw, older Thrice, Copeland, Mute Math, Motion City Soundtrack, Bedlight for blue eyes, the sound of animals fighting, radiohead, tons tons more stuff....

Hopefully that will give you a pretty good idea. I am a very down to earth and open minded people who just wants to meet people and make good music, for the sake of music and having fun. If you are a tweaker, drug abuser, low motiv person, do not respond. If you are 55 and want to play jazz all day, do not respond. If you have been playing an instrument for 6 months and think you have mastered it, do not respond. If your favorite band is Slipknot, Dimmu Borgir, random metal band that has no talented vocals, dont respond. Im not trying to be an a-hole here. Im just looking for people that want to hang out, have fun and make some impactful stuff. I have good quality gear and reliable trasportation, i would hope you would have the same. Those chosen will work with renowned professionals in the music industry. They may also be assigned to a professional East Coast managemnt co. and a professional booking agency. Chosen artists will open for celebrity artists until booked as headliner.

I know this isn't cheap, but it's not out of control either, i use many of the same people on huge records and we're able to compete for a fraction of the cost of what a major label spends on a record and we can get the same sound and vibe for less....the way we do this is by doing lots of "pre-production" and executing it right from the get go.
