UC Davis researchers are seeking volunteers to participate in a study on children's thinking and cognitive development. We are seeking parents and their children between ages 9 to 15-years old to participate.
We are especially interested in volunteers whose children may have witnessed ongoing domestic violence (or experienced child physical abuse).
Parents will answer questionnaires and children will complete a variety of game- and school-like cognitive tasks as well as a few questionnaires. Children will not be asked about experiencing violence (domestic violence or child abuse).
Your child should not have any major developmental disorders, should be able to read at age/grade level, and should have normal hearing, and have no color blindness.
Families will receive $75 for participating. In addition, up to $25 may be given for travel from the Stockton area.
Study takes place at UC Davis (Davis, CA) or at a UC Davis Medical Center Department of Pediatrics affiliated site (Sacramento, CA).
For more information, please contact Ms. Harris at (916) 320-6783 (research cell) or e-mail ChildMindStudy@UCDavis.edu.
For your safety, this study takes place on UCD premises that are safe, secure, and are regularly monitored.
