San Joaquin magazine seeks an Assistant Editor
San Joaquin magazine is the #1 regional magazine covering the Central Valley, and we are looking for local talent to join our team. The ideal person to fill this spot always has the scoop on the local who and what, and keeps on top of what’s new and newsworthy in San Joaquin. This is a part-time position with potential to become full-time in the future.
Job Duties:
The Assistant Editor will come up with potential story ideas, take charge of our Front of the Book ‘209’ section of the magazine, write columns and stories, and act as the editor for any advertorial sections included in San Joaquin magazine.
Job Requirements:
- Must have experience writing stories for publication
- knowledge of San Joaquin County’s local pulse, especially Stockton/Lodi area
- creative thinking, ability to come up with fresh and intriguing local story ideas
- detail-oriented, fact based, attentive and thoughtful writing and/or editing abilities
- familiarity with the Chicago Manual of Style
