I am a 55yo US Navy Veteran. When I was 18 years old and on my first voyage overseas I got to visit Subic Bay in the Philippines. In town, I learned that local artisans took to making wooden models of the ships and various squadron aircraft that would visit their port. The workmanship was exceptional.
This model, commissioned and painted for me personally was an amazing gift to myself. It was originally mounted on a beautiful base with my squadron logo and when in tact, it had its tail rotor, all five main rotors, all of its landing gear and more.
I have, many times over the years, tried to reach out to the Philippines to see if anyone could help me rebuild it but I think I would just need to "go there" to get what I need. But obviously that's not really an option.
If there is anyone out there who knows someone who works with wood models and makes their own parts please let me know. I really want to restore this model.
I am missing the hood in front of the jet engine intakes, all five rotor blades, the tail rotor assembly, 1 set of landing gear, etc.
